Pre School

The Roydon Pre-school is situated in the village Hall. Many of the children transfer to Roydon Primary School when they are five. The children join our Reception class for two mornings a week prior to the term they join us full time. This ensures that children are familiar with the teachers they will meet when they transfer , allaying anxieties about joining the “Big School” Our Reception teacher and Teaching Assistant visit the Pre-school and pre-school staff regularly visit the reception class.

The aim of our Foundation stage is to develop confidence, independence and an enquiring mind. The children are encouraged to make choices and learn through planned play activities.
