Parents Forum Meeting: 19th March

The first Parents Forum Meeting was held on Thursday 19th March. The main two areas which were discussed were the future of the swimming pool and possible early closing of the school on the last day of term.

Results of the replies to the consultation letter which was sent out to parents shows a majority support by those who responded for the continuation of the swimming pool. It was felt that it is important for us to try and re-open the pool as it provides a valuable facility to the children. It has therefore been decided that we will try to investigate sources of funding which will enable the school to raise the funds necessary to carry out the maintenance work required to re-open the pool. If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions for possible fundraising ideas or sources of external funds can they please pass these on to the school office. The reality is that the pool will not be used for swimming this year. We hope we can raise funds to repair it by next year.

It was decided that the school will close at the usual time on the last day of the Summer Term. Feedback from parents did not show a need for the school to finish early and it was felt that closing at 2pm would compromise the Year 6 leavers assembly.

Discussion areas for the next meeting on 5 June are the Seal groups at school and the official school photograph suppliers. If any parents have any views or thoughts on these areas or any other issues can you please contact your class parent representative.
